There is a vigorous new ad campaign by the
makers and users of Splenda (sucralose) geared towards children in the 2-8 year
range and centers mainly on breakfast cereals. A quick look down the cereal item
of any supermarket will reveal the more common sugary cereals now claiming to be
"reduced" or "lower" in sugar. In place of sugar, sucralose is being added to
maintain the sweet taste children are addicted to. The spear point of the
campaign centers on giving you, the adult, the perception the reduced sugar will
combat overweight and obese conditions in children. The Companies say they are
responding to parents' demands for products with less sugar and that they aren't
claiming these cereals are any healthier than the originals. Experts who
reviewed the lower-sugar versions of the major brands of sweetened cereals have
no significant nutritional advantages over their full-sugar counterparts.
Researchers found that the cereals are virtually identical in calories, carbs,
fat, and fiber.
There are many separate arguments about concerns with
sugar; the addition of the chemical additive sucralose (Splenda) is foremost and
potentially most dangerous concern. What should be noted before exploring the
danger of the additive is that all current research shows that single most
factors in childhood obesity is environmental. 80% of all obese or overweight
children have obese or overweight parents. The percentage drops only slightly
with one obese parent and shifts a bit cross-gender, with toddler boys mimicking
the mother more, while toddler girls the father. When a child moves into the
later teens, friends assume the role of prime influence. Overweight or obese
friends result in the same 80% percentage.
The chemical additive
sucralose is one of but a few products allowed on the market with no significant
clinical studies done on it with humans. Research done on rats revealed serious
health concerns with organ shrinkage and enlargement but was dismissed because
the rat was not close to humans genetically. Rats historically are the first
step in the research process and gradually go through higher species levels
before approval. That is not the case here with sucralose. You can get different
types of such bags and quartz crystal
are the most common one. These are durable and can be created at home also. The
limited study done was performed studying tooth decay only and not major health
concerns. Sucralose is marketed under false claims that it is "made from sugar
so it tastes like sugar" and the product is more natural and beneficial. Almost
20% of American households use sucralose and many unknowingly as it is buried on
the ingredient label.
Sucralose was discovered as a sweetener during a
research study developing pesticides. The closest tie to natural sugar is that
it starts as a sugar molecule. Sparing the chemistry, the five step patented
process of manufacturing sucralose adds chorine molecules which are highly
reactive. Chlorine provided the basis for nerve gases and is added to products
like disinfectant and antifreeze. The maker claims this synthetic potentially
dangerous compound is not absorbed by the body but research strongly suggest up
to 15% is absorbed into the digestion system and stored in the body. This is the
same process that occurred with the most deadly and toxic sweetener,Handbag

Almost 100 negative side effects are tied to aspartame and many links to ADD and
other concentration and attention disorders, the product's price Crystal Filter is prone

cost of transaction that is later added to the cost of manufacture and
eventually results to higher value of products. as well as bi-polar and
depression. In the 25 years aspartame has been on the market, obesity rate has
doubled and the noted attention disorders have reached epidemic proportions.
Will Splenda ultimately result in the same number and types of health
issues as aspartame? Only longer term studies will provide the final answer, but
for the time being, the product is being allowed to collect this research data
from use on you and your children. Being at a much reduced body weight, negative
reactions to the product or side effects from its use will be greatly magnified.
As a parent, a child relies solely on you to provide the safest and most
nutritional food choices. The decision to let a child consume proven additives
like aspartame and potential one like sucralose where are data and chemistry
suggests it will leave a wake of side effects is entirely your responsibility.
The additives are not easy to uncover and remove from a child's diet. Popsicle
brand ice pops, with no claim of reduced sugar or lower caloric content, contain
aspartame. Added solely for the reason of the increased sweet taste. New
research published in the International Journal of Obesity reveals that
artificial sweeteners like aspartame and may actually promote obesity by
tricking the body into thinking that sweet-tasting foods and drinks don't
contain as many calories as they really do.
